Upendo Village staff and clients celebrate the arrival of the first 4 German alpine dairy goats donated by the Harambee Project. Clients were trained on how to care for the goats. The milk will be used to supplement their family’s nutrition as well serving as an added source of income.
Assisted by the Harambee Project, Upendo Village clients demonstrate what they have learned about beekeeping and harvesting honey.
David and his foster parents receive a improved breed of indigenous rooster which will enhance the quality of eggs and chickens when bred with local hens. This will improve nutrition as well as serve as a source of economic self-sufficiency.
Matthew, who has been receiving care through Upendo Village, is now healthy enough to earn his own living as a cobbler. With basic tools and a little shelter for his work space, he has renewed self-esteem and dignity.
Mary Jane buys fruit from Anna. She is HIV + and was near death. Through Upendo Village’s nutritional supplementation program and TB treatment program, she regained her strength and is now able to support herself with a fruit and vegetable stand that she started with Upendo Village’s help.
