Lydia Wanjiru, 32, is a mother of two girls, 15 year-old Mary Wanjiku and 7  year -old Kesia Nyakiri. Wanjiru lost her husband to AIDS in 1993 and her second born child in 1995.  She has full blown AIDS and her last born, Nyakiri has all the symptoms of being HIV positive.

Upendo Village welcomed Sister Elizabeth Mbete, RN to the staff of Upendo Village in January 2006.

 

 

August 2006

 A Mother, her two sons, and her husband are visited at home by Upendo Village staff.The mother has since died from AIDS and her husband is receiving therapy.  Her two sons have returned to school thanks to Upendo Village donors, including her oldest son, Samuel, who is in high school.

 

November 2006

 The Njuguna family has been given new hope through the services and love of the Upendo Village staff. 

 

 

February 2007

Julia Angatia, an HIV positive mother, and her malnourished, HIV positive child Stanley are being cared for in the Upendo Village Home Based Care program.  Nutritional supplementation and treatment of opportunistic infections can help restore this family’s health and hope.

Through loving care, Upendo Village renews spirits, restores health and revitalizes hope.

Singers, drummers and dancers from St. Martin School in Nairobi provided music and dance for the new Upendo Village site dedication in Naivasha, Kenya .

 

 

February 2008
